Time to Czech in at Brno

11th September 2008

The 5.4 km Brno circuit in the Czech republic will host round 7 of the FIA GT Championship this weekend with racing returning to the more familiar format of the two-hour endurance race on Sunday 14th September. The challenging and undulating circuit is a firm favourite with Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini.

After such a strong showing at the Bucharest City Challenge the Scuderia Ecosse team will be hoping to maximize their chances and points as the season moves into the final stages.

As Jamie prepared to head for Brno he commented, “Brno is a very nice circuit to drive, it has a good selection of corners and lots of height changes over the lap. It’s going to be interesting this year as the circuit has been totally re-surfaced since I last drove there. Pirelli did a great job with the tyres at Bucharest and I am confident we will have a very competitive car for the Brno race.

With cooler race temperatures ahead, Italian Fabio Babini commented, “I am looking forward to racing at Brno once again, as it is a fantastic drivers circuit. With the latest developments from Pirelli and our encouraging pace at Bucharest last month, I am confident that Jamie and I will be able to push hard for the podium during the two hour race”.

Scuderia Ecosse team principal Stewart Roden commented “Brno is a very challenging track and the team really enjoys going there. With Pirelli’s hard work on the production of new tyres all year – I am confident this will be reflected in our performance this weekend”.
