All Set to Go Fast at Spa

31st July 2008

The count down is on. This weekend the famous Spa circuit in Belgium will see the stunning FIA GT championship cars charging through Eau Rouge for the Total 24 hours of Spa endurance race.

Italian Open GT driver Ferdinanado Monfardini, who joins the team as the third driver, commented earlier this week, “Total 24-hours of Spa is always a fantastic race and I’d like to thank Stewart Roden for the opportunity to join Fabio, Jamie and the team. At the recent Vallelunga test I had the chance to work with all the guys at Scuderia Ecosse and came away with a very good feeling about our chances for this race. This will be my second 24-hour race at Spa, having raced there last year alongside Fabio and Jamie and I can honestly say the atmosphere is extraordinary.”

Qualifying duties will be in the capable hands of Jamie Davies again, and before heading out to Belgium for this weekend’s race he said, “Spa is a very important race for the team and myself. Being a 24-hour endurance race there are double points up for grabs. We must make sure we continue to work well as a team and try to achieve consistent lap times. Spa can usually throw up some tricky weather so we need to be alert and be prepared for some surprises along the way. I'm looking forward to the challenge, it’s a big team event and that gives me confidence as we have a very close knit team at Scuderia Ecosse”.

A confident Fabio Babini said, "I'm very happy ahead of this week-end and I'm preparing myself both mentally and physically for this race. I love this circuit, it's amazing and I'm very excited. This race is a true test of endurance and it's a real challenge to get to the finish! I'm confident of a good result and it would be a great satisfaction for the team after all the hard work and progress we made at the Vallelunga test”.

Ahead of the gruelling endurance race at Spa Scuderia Ecosse have teamed up with the high performance energy drink GO FAST to help see the team through the most challenging round of the FIA GT race calendar. Go Fast’s exclusive herbal blend offers a smoother longer, more sustained energy boost than other high-sugar products on the market. www.gofastsports.com.
