Home and Proud
2nd April 2008
With news of the tragic loss of David Leslie and his Apex Motorsport team
members still sinking in, it was a more subdued Scuderia Ecosse team who spent
a busy day tyre testing at Knockhill racing circuit in Fife.
With Monza still fresh in the team’s mind the Scuderia Ecosse GT squad
was able to build on the success of their recent Italian test and further improved
the balance and lap times over long runs in the spring sunshine.
Drivers Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini were joined by BTCC superstar Gordon ‘Flash’ Shedden
and all three drivers consistently clocked some super fast lap-times on a variety
of Pirelli tyre compounds, ending the day with their best ever Knockhill lap
time.
Valuable information was gathered from this test session giving the team confidence
going forward to the season opener at Silverstone on the 19th and 20th April.
Jamie Davies said ”This has been another important test for the team
and backs up the information that we and Pirelli have gathered from Monteblanco
and Monza. The tyres are proving very consistent over the long runs with some
good lap times. The feedback from the car and the tyres are putting us in good
shape for the fist race”.
