Team Championship Goes to Vitaphone

The 8th round of the FIA GT 2006 at the Hungaroring in Budapest was won by
the No.9 Zakspeed Saleen S7R in front of the No.4 GLPK Carsport Corvette C
6 and the No.23 Aston Martin Racing BMS DBR 9. The Vitaphone Racing Team Maserati’s
finished 5th (No.1) and 7th (No.2) and collected another 6 points for the team.
With 99 points after 8 races the Team Championship goes to the Vitaphone Racing
Team. Even though there are still two races left the other teams have no chance
to catch the Vitaphone Team. After winning the Team Championship in 2005 the
team is again Team Champion.
Jamie Davies: “Certainly I am not happy about a 7th place finish but
the good thing is that we lose ballast in the car for the next race and our
chance to get another podium position will increase.”
