Historical Victory for Jamie Davies and Thomas Biagi

The 6th round of the FIA GT 2006 was also the 100th race of the championship
at the 1st of September 2006 in Dijon (France).
Jamie Davies did the qualifying and set the 2nd fastest time and had therefore
a good starting position for this difficult circuit. After a really interesting
race and fights about the fastest lap between the Maserati no.2 and the Zakspeed
Saleen, Jamie Davies and Thomas Biagi had their first victory in the FIA GT
Championship in 2006. Jamie and Thomas finished ahead of the Aston Martin no.5
and the Aston Martin no.33. The other Vitaphone Maserati finished 5th.
Jamie is happy about the victory: “It is a great result for us, but
also for Maserati, Pirelli and our team. We have been trying hard since the
beginning of the season to have such a result. Now we managed to do it, and
I hope we can carry on like that. Let’s hope that now we will have good
luck until the end of the year.”
